The St. Luke school community is exploring how to know their students better. While at the same time becoming a more culturally-responsive community that reflects and celebrates the school’s diversity. This journey is a whole school initiative, including students, staff, and the greater community. Together they hope to learn more about anti-bias and anti-racist language, how to make positive changes for students and staff, and encourage students’ voices while embracing Catholic social teachings.
Several projects have already been initiated, and several more are planned, including:
- Celebrating Who Our Students Are through book clubs.
- Understanding Who Our Students Are through whole school initiatives.
- Staff devoted meeting time to better understanding ABAR (Anti-Bias, Anti-Racist) Language by devoting staff meeting times to the topic.
- Helping Students/Staff and Families Identify Ways to Make the School More Inclusive through School Council input.
