Holy Trinity High School international student Christine Yang was one of 16 student participants to join Equal Voice National Capital Region (NCR). Equal Voice was founded to help women and gender-diverse individuals succeed in Canadian politics.
Christine attended a four-hour simulated City Council meeting called “They Govern.” She tackled climate change, affordable housing, and homelessness. This experience prompted Christine to join the Equal Voice NCR Steering Committee. She is eager to continue to work with their team to inspire change in Canadian politics.
St. Mother Teresa High School international student Malo Pinhouet also stepped into Canadian politics when he joined Mayor Jim Watson at City Hall and participated at the House Of Commons to join a Member of Parliament for a day. For this political enthusiast, it was a dream come true.
