Frank Ryan Turkey Trot Raises $1 Million

The Turkey Trot of Hope at Frank Ryan Intermediate School has been a long-standing tradition within the school Board community. Annually, students come together as a homeroom and raise money for the Terry Fox Foundation and many other charities throughout the community. In addition to walking a distance of approximately 3.5 km, students enjoy many class team-building activities throughout the day. This year, the school broke the one million dollar mark of funds raised since the Turkey Trot first began in 1981.

That huge accomplishment speaks to the caring and giving community for which Frank Ryan Intermediate School is known. Although the Turkey Trot had a different look these past two years, the purpose remained the same – to bring awareness to students about Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope and to help build community. Frank Ryan Intermediate School is proud to have accomplished these goals and raised this amazing amount.
